Easy Air Frier Lemon Dill Tofu

Tofu is so bland, tofu is so boring, tofu has no flavor …. YOU’RE COOKING IT WRONG!

Tofu is a blank slate that you can do so many things to if you just season it right! This recipe is full of flavor and has an amazing crisp. If you’re looking for a way to add more vegan protein to your to your plate, try this recipe!

My favorite way to serve this is over rice with roasted veggies, but I think this would be delicious with pasta and a vegan Alfredo sauce too!

Ingredients

  • 1 Block Super Firm Tofu

  • 1 cup vegetable broth

  • 1 tbsp dried dill

  • 1 tbsp dried parsley

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne (optional but if you like spicy things, I recommend adding this)

  • juice from 2 lemons

  • 6 tbsp nutritional yeast

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp olive oil (optional)

Directions

  1. At least 2 hours before you are going to eat, start marinating your tofu! The longer you marinade it the better. I’d recommend 4 hours or even overnight if you have time to prep it the night before.

  2. Start by slicing your tofu into whatever shapes you want, i like to cut mine into triangles for this recipe. I start by turning the tofu on its side, slicing down the middle, and then cutting each of those in half again, then i cut each little loaf in half each way, making 4 equal sized squares, and then I cut them one more time to make each into a triangle.

  3. For your marinade combine the vegetable broth, juice from 1 lemon, salt and optional oil in a container that you can cover. Add your tofu into this marinade and put in the fridge and marinade for at least 2 hours.

  4. After your tofu has marinade we can make the crust. In a bowl combine the nutritional yeast with the dried dill and parsley and mix together.

  5. Take each peice of tofu out of the marinade, shake off the excess liquid, and place the tofu in the bowl with the nutritional yeast crust. Cover each side with the nutritional yeast and place it on a baking sheet or in your air frier. Repeat this for each piece of tofu.

  6. Once you have crusted each piece of tofu, air fry it at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes, or bake in the oven. If you are baking in the oven, bake at 400 for 10 minutes, remove it from the oven, flip each piece and bake for an additional 10 minutes.

  7. When the tofu is done cooking, serve immediately over rice, pasta, quinoa, veggies, or whatever you like!

  8. You can also save it for later in you fridge for 5-7 days and reheat in your air frier
